Who is responsible

The operator of PCPort is the data controller for any personal data handled through this site. For anything in this policy, write to hello@pcportcouk.com.

What we collect

Very little. The site has no accounts, no checkout, no payments, no cookies and no analytics or advertising trackers.

The contact form does not send or store anything itself. It opens the email app on your own device with a message addressed to hello@pcportcouk.com. We receive only what you choose to send, which is usually your name, email address and message, and perhaps details of the placement you have in mind.

Our web host, Hostinger, keeps standard server access logs. These record technical details such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request, and they are used to keep the site running and secure.

How we use it, and why

We use your email only to reply to your enquiry and, if you decide to go ahead, to agree the placement with you and the publisher.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interest: you have written to us, and we have a genuine interest in answering you. We do not sell your data, add you to a mailing list or use it for advertising.

Who else sees it

If you ask us to arrange a placement, the publisher receives only what it needs to publish, such as the article and the page you want it to link to. Your emails pass through our email provider, and server logs are held by Hostinger as our host. Nobody else receives your data from us.

How long we keep it

Enquiry emails are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any placement that follows, and are then deleted. Server logs are kept by Hostinger under its own standard retention settings.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or erase it. You can also object to how we use it, or ask us to limit that use.

To use any of these rights, email hello@pcportcouk.com. There is no charge.

If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk. We would welcome the chance to put things right first.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so pages travel encrypted between our host and your browser. Enquiry emails are seen only by the people who handle enquiries.

Changes to this policy

If the way the site handles personal data changes, for example if analytics are ever added, this policy will be updated first and the date at the top of the page will change.
